Disgaea 4 Storyline

The action of the game takes in the Netherworld. The main protagonist of the is named Valvatorez, and he is a few hundred-year-old vampire. Back in the days, he used to be a relentless, and brutal tyrant, terrorizing his subjects. However, because of one woman, he decided to change his life and promised to restrain his thirst for blood. Because of that change of heart Valvatorez fell almost to the bottom of the hellish hierarchy. The woman he promised to change died and went to Hades – the place where dead humans go and are transformed into creatures called Prinnies. The reformed vampire finds out about the new plan of the rulers of the Netherworld aimed to exterminate all Prinnies. Valvatorez decides to climb up the Netherworld's hierarchy once again and put an end to this cruel endeavor. During his adventure, he meets many original characters, like for example werewolf Fenrich, or a young girl named Fuuka who died in unexplained and mysterious circumstances.

Gameplay mechanics

Disgaea 4 is a tactical jRPG in which players will spend most of their time fighting with various enemies during highly strategic, turn-based battles. While releasing the new edition of the game, developers decided not to change the main elements of the gameplay. During combat, players must carefully think about their next move – while fighting with enemies, a good tactic is a key to victory. Every character in the game has a unique set of abilities and skills, that can be chained and used to create powerful combo attacks. Additionally, players can freely modify the equipment of the heroes to fit their preferred playstyle. During the adventure, Hades plays the role of the Headquarters for our heroes – from there, they can buy new equipment, choose their next quest, etc.
